Pies in Mason Jars
PUMPKIN PIE
3 c finely crushed ginger snaps (more for garnish)
12 TBS butter, melted
1 (15 oz) can pumpkin
3 TBS sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
2 c heavy cream
8 oz cream cheese, softened
Make crust in large bowl. Mix ginger snap crumbs with melted butter until coated.
Make pumpkin layer in small bowl. Mix pumpkin with 1 TBS sugar and cinnamon. (Can transfer to a piping bag.)
Make cream layer in stand mixer with whisk attachment. Beat heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Fold in cream cheese and remaining two TBS sugar. (Can transfer to a piping bag.)
In 4 Mason jars, layer crust, pumpkin, and cream, alternating until you reach the top of the jars.
Garnish with ginger snap crumbs.
APPLE PIE
10 oatmeal cookies, crumbled
4-5 apples, diced
1 tsp cinnamon
4 scoops vanilla ice cream
caramel (for drizzling)
Make apple layer in medium saucepan over low heat. Combine apples and cinnamon and cook until soft, about 10 minutes.
Among 4 Mason jars, layer oatmeal cookies and apples, alternating until you reach the top of jar.
Top with vanilla ice cream, and drizzle with caramel.
CHOCOLATE PIE
2 c finely crushed graham crackers
8 TBS butter, melted
1 packet chocolate pudding mix
1 c milk
2 c heavy cream
2 TBS sugar
chocolate shavings, for garnish
Make crust in large bowl. Mix graham cracker crumbs with melted butter until coated.
Make pudding. Mix pudding mix with milk and let set 5 minutes. (Can transfer to piping bag.)
Beat heavy cream in stand mixer with whisk attachment, until stiff peaks form. Stir in sugar.
Among 4 Mason jars, layer graham cracker crust, pudding, and whipped cream, alternating until you reach top of jars.
Garnish with chocolate.
MUD PIE
1 pkg Oreos, crushed
1 pint vanilla ice cream
1 pint coffee ice cream
1/4 c hot fudge sauce
1/4 c caramel
Among 4 Mason jars, layer Oreos, 2 scoops vanilla ice cream, more crushed Oreos, 2 scoops coffee ice cream, hot fudge sauce, and caramel.
Garnish with crushed Oreos.
BANANA PIE
1 packet vanilla pudding mix
1 c milk
3 c finely crushed Nilla wafers (leave some whole for garnish)
3 bananas, sliced
whipped cream (garnish)
Make pudding in small bowl. Mix pudding mix with milk and set for 5 minutes.
Among 4 Mason jars, layer crushed wafers, pudding and bananas, alternating until you reach top of jar.
Top with whipped cream and whole Nilla wafers.
