Krispy Kreme Doughuts (just what my big 'un needs)

THIS IS HALF THE ORIGINAL RECIPE!!

1 (1/4 oz) pkgs yeast
1/6 c water (105-to-115 degrees)
3/4 c milk
1/4 c sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 egg
1/6 c butter (about 3 oz)
2 1/2 c all-purpose flour
canola oil (to fry)

Glaze:
1/4 c butter, melted
1 tsp vanilla
3 TBS evaporated milk

Combine lukewarm water and yeast in stand-up mixer bowl. Let sit until water dissolves (about 5 minutes).
In microwave safe bowl, heat milk for 2 minutes. Remove and let cool.
Add milk, sugar, salt, eggs, butter and 1 cup of flour to yeast. Mix 2 minutes at medium speed.
Add remainder of flour. Continue mixing, scraping sides.
Place dough in large greased bowl and cover with cloth. Let rise in warm spot until doubled in size (1-2 hours).
Roll dough out on floured surface to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut with donut cutter (or cookie cutters, different sizes). Let stand 10 minutes.
Heat oil in large sauce pan at medium heat (375 degrees).
Drop doughnuts into hot oil, a few at a time. Cook for about 3 minutes, turning once.
Drain on paper towels.
Prepare glaze - melt butter in microwave. Stir in remaining ingredients.
Dip doughnuts in glaze and let them drip dry.
