Spider Doughnuts

1 – Use a sharp knife to cut the two curved sides off a pretzel. 2 – Carefully push 8 pretzels curves into the top of a mini donut to form legs. Press slowly so you don’t snap the pretzels. 3 – Melt a little chocolate in a sandwich bag or place a bit of frosting in a sandwich bag. Clip off a tiny corner and pipe some chocolate/frosting onto the mini donut, and use it to stick two M&Ms on for eyes.

  • 3 Tbsp. butter
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • red & yellow food coloring or orange gel coloring
  • 5-1/2 cups mini marshmallows
  • 6 cups crispy rice cereal
  • mini tootsie rolls

Directions:

  1. In a large saucepan, melt and slightly brown butter on medium heat. Add vanilla extract and marshmallows. Stir until marshmallows are completely melted. Add food coloring until desired orange color is reached. Add cereal and stir until completely combined. Turn off heat and let sit for a few minutes, until cool enough to handle.
  2. When mixture has cooled enough, spray your hands with cooking spray and mold cereal mix into circles. (I made nine medium sized pumpkins). Unwrap a tootsie roll and press into each pumpkin top.

Mummy Dogs

1 can crescent rolls
2-1/2 slices cheese (quartered)
10 hot dogs
cooking spray
mustard or ketchup

Heat oven to 375 degrees.
Unroll crescent rolls, separating at perforations, creating 4 rectangles.
With knife, cut each rectangle length-wide into 10 pieces, making a total of 40 pieces of dough.
Slice cheese slices into quarters.
Wrap 4 pieces of dough around each hog dog and 1/4 slice of cheese to look like bandages.
About 1/2 inch from one end, leave a space for a face.
Place wrapped dogs, cheese side down, on cookie sheet.
Spray dough slightly with cooking spray.
Bake 13 to 17 minutes.
Draw features on face with mustard.

Chocolate Covered Cherry Mice

1 jar maraschino cherries with stems, drained and dried
6 oz semisweet chocolate
1/2 tsp butter
1 oz paraffin, chopped
1/2 c chocolate chips
1/2 c sliced almonds
1 tube red gel icing

Line cookie sheet with parchment paper.
Rinse and drain cherries, let dry on paper towels, turning often. They must be completely dry.
Melt chocolate, butter and paraffin in double boiler until smooth, stirring often to prevent burning.
Once melted, turn off heat but leave in double boiler.
Dip dry cherries into melted chocolate and cover up to stem. Place on lined cookie sheet.
Immediately press on chocolate chip, flat side to front of dipped cherry, to form a head.
While chocolate is still warm, wedge two sliced almonds between chocolate chip and cherry to form ears.
Let cool.
Use a toothpick to dab beady red eyes on either side of chocolate chip with red gel icing.
Refrigerate to firmly set.

Vampire Cookies

1 pkg refrigerated chocolate chip cookie dough (or bag of cookies)
1/2 c vanilla frosting, tinted red
1-3/4 c miniature marshmallows
48 slivered almonds

Make cookies. Cut each cookie in half (48 halves).
Frost bottoms of cookie halves with frosting.
Place 6 marshmallow teeth around curved perimeter of 24 halves.
(For added support, you can put a marshmallow at the back of the halves.)
Top with remaining 24 halves.
Insert two almond slivers between teeth for fangs. (May need to dip them in frosting to make them stick.)
