Grandmother's Favorite Peach Cobbler (Wanda P)














1 stick butter
1-1/2 c sugar
1 c flour
1-1/2 tsp baking powder
3/4 c milk
1 can (30 oz) sliced peaches in syrup
1 tsp cinnamon
1/3 tsp nutmeg

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Melt butter in 9x13 casserole dish.
Separate peaches from syrup.
Mix 1 c sugar and other dry ingredients in bowl.
Stir in milk and peach syrup.
Put peaches in dish with melted butter.
Pour batter over peaches.
Mix cinnamon, nutmeg and 1/2 c sugar and sprinkle on top of batter.
Bake 45 minutes to 1 hour until crust is brown.
