Reindeer Cookies

3/4 c peanut butter
1/4 c firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 c shortening
3 TBS milk
1 TBS vanilla
1 egg
3/4 c all-purpose flour
3/4 tsp baking soda
3/4 tsp salt
chocolate-covered mini pretzels
mini brown M&M's
regular size red M&M's

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Combine brown sugar, peanut butter, shortening and vanilla in large bowl. Beat at medium speed until well blended.
In separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt. Add to creamed mixture at low speed.
Form dough into 1-inch balls.
To make reindeer shape, pinch bottom of ball slightly to form a point, and flatten with hand.
Space cookies 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet and bake 7-8 minutes, until just beginning to brown.
Remove from oven and immediately and gently press two mini pretzels into tops of cookies.
Insert eyes and nose (M&M's).
Allow to cool 2 minutes on baking sheet and transfer to finish cooling.
Makes about 40 cookies.
