1/2 c sugar (plus extra for sprinkling)
1/3 c butter, melted
1/2 c milk
1/2 c canned pumpkin
1 1/2 c sifted all-purpose flour
2 tsp baking soda
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 c raisins
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
In large bowl, mix sugar and melted butter.
Blend in egg, milk and pumpkin.
In separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg.
Add flour mixture to butter mixture and mix well.
Fold in raisins.
Spoon batter into greased or lined muffin cups, filling 3/4 full.
Sprinkle each muffin with sugar.
Bake 15 to 20 minutes.
Makes 12 muffins.
