Chocolate Chip Ooey Gooey Butter Cake (Karin M.)


 
Crust:
1 box butter cake mix
1 egg
1/2 c butter, melted

Filling:
1 8 oz pkg cream cheese, softened
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
16 oz powdered sugar
1/2 c butter, melted
1 c chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Lightly grease 9x13 baking dish.

Combine cake mix, egg and butter with electric mixer. Mix well.
Pat into bottom of prepared pan, set aside.

In another bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth.
Add eggs and vanilla.
Dump powdered sugar and beat very well.
Reduce speed of mixer and pour in melted butter. Mix well.
Stir in chocolate chips.

Pour filling onto cake mixure and spread evenly.
Bake 40-50 minutes.
Cool completely and cut into bars.

(OK to drizzle melted chocolate chips over top after it has cooled 15 minutes.)
